Job description
You will be able to work at the office in Swindon, where all of the Commissioning Team come together at least once a week, and also at home. You will be meeting with providers and colleagues through site/service visits and also through hybrid and face to face meetings.
Ideally we would like to you to have a sound knowledge of commissioning in Social Care, Housing or Health. You will have experience of developing, shaping and improving services and have a track record of successfully managing activity and performance targets across a range of provision.
You will have a passion for making a difference through commissioning. Through you and the Commissioning Team we want to maximise people’s independence so that people can achieve their goals and aspirations and be supported to live the life that they choose.
Your next role
As an Adult Community Commissioner you will be part of a team of four community commissioners working to develop, shape and provide services and community responses to meeting the needs of adults, including older people and working age adults.
You will deliver change through working with social care teams, a wide range of providers as well as with health and housing colleagues. You will ensure that services give best value and ensure that the lived experience of adults with needs is central to shaping services in the commissioning cycle.
As the Commissioning function moves ever closer to integrated commissioning across social care, health and housing you will be involved in shaping and implementing this. You, with commissioning colleagues, will be driving the changes to respond to meeting the needs of adults through a range of community led support and innovative solutions that lead to increase independence.
You will be a great communicator and collaborator and be able to make change happen. You will be able to access a range of learning and development opportunities so that your skills and knowledge keep growing and are kept up to date with current policy and developments.
In this role you will champion, influence and implement Adult Social Care values, vision and strategy to support people to have the best life and to safeguard them from harm.
