The role
The University of Bristol Admissions Office is looking to appoint a Selector to review applications to the University and make selection decisions for designated programmes. The role will include monitoring application and offer numbers on an ongoing basis to ensure that offer targets are met.
You will report to, and support, the Postgraduate Admissions Manager, and will work alongside other Selectors and Selection Assistants. You will be required to build close working relationships with academic Admissions Tutors and Programme Directors, as well as International and UK recruitment colleagues to make continuous improvements in delivering the University’s admissions strategy.
What will you be doing?
As an Admissions Officer, you will have a diverse range of responsibilities as follows, ensuring a smooth and efficient application process for prospective students.
- Assess applications, collaborating with admissions tutors and directors to select exceptional candidates.
- Drive strategic planning by monitoring applications and offers, ensuring recruitment goals are met.
- Provide personalised support, guiding applicants and addressing complex inquiries with exceptional communication skills.
- Develop expertise in specific areas, contributing to continuous improvement in admissions processes.
- Foster collaboration across the team, ensuring seamless operations and support.
- Represent the university at recruitment events, attracting top talent as a university ambassador.
- Contribute to student recruitment, induction, and registration activities for a broad impact on our student experience.

Contract type: Open Ended
Work pattern: Monday - Friday, 35 hours per week
Grade: H
Salary: £32,411 – £36,333
