About this job
The Post holder will be responsible for carrying out a high level of administrative duties to deliver cohort admissions within the School Admissions Team. Cohort admissions includes, Reception, Junior, Secondary and Training and Technical schools’ entry (approximately 9,000 applications).
Support the Systems Manger to ensure effective delivery of a high-quality cohort admissions service in compliance with the Council’s statutory requirements.

About you
The post holder will be experienced with working with data bases and data entry in a busy team. You will be experienced in working to deadlines within statutory time frames. The post holder will have excellent communication skills and work to a high standard. You will be experienced in working with the public.
About us
Barking & Dagenham’s school admissions team allocates school places to all children and young people in the borough across reception to year 11 year groups. An opportunity has arisen to join the School Admissions team in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. Working in a busy team, you will be responsible for the daily provision of procedures supporting admissions to mainstream schools for pupils applying outside of the cohort arrangements. This includes reception, Infant, Junior, Primary and Secondary In year applications and transfers including Voluntary Aided Schools. The post holder will also co-ordinate with the borough schools and all other London Boroughs and Admission Authorities in the Pan London coordinated Scheme. The post holder will be responsible for working closely with schools, and other internal and external agencies and providing advice to parents and information to managers.
