Our organization is looking for an Admissions Advisor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing guidance and support to prospective students and their families. This includes providing information about our programs, assisting with applications as well as follow-up with prospective students. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a commitment to customer service, and resilience and compassion when dealing with the public.

Outward Bound Services Group (OBSG) is one of two national Outward Bound entities in the United States (the other being OBUSA). OBSG is a member-owned extension of Outward Bound, acting as a digital marketing, creative, and customer experience agency for eight Outward Bound schools (our members), with the primary purpose of enrolling students on backcountry expeditions.
We are responsible for providing a range of marketing and enrollment services including:
- Developing national marketing strategies for Open Enrollment programs
- Designing and executing marketing campaigns to generate leads
- Providing analytic expertise to plan, measure, & adjust campaign impacts
- Managing the national call center to answer inquiries and initiate enrollments
- Coordinating with national scholarship partners to enroll their participants

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Answer incoming phone calls and respond to online chats; assist customers with course selection and enroll participants for course.
- Respond to online applications, emails and voicemails in a timely and professional manner.
- Responsible for all follow up calls and emails to prospective students.
- Be knowledgeable, accurate, accommodating and offer excellent customer service.
- Timely and accurate data entry in accordance with Outward Bound enrollment procedures.
- Ability to proactively direct customers to courses in need to meet departmental goals and objectives.
- As needed, attend outreach and tabling events, seminars, career fairs, student and other events as pitching and engagement opportunities and to support non-qualified lead nurturing.
- Implement a full sales cycle with a focus on prospecting/ identifying qualified leads, nurturing non-qualified, pitching and closing.
- Able to work both collaboratively and independently with remote supervision.
- Ability to recognize relevant trends and share information with supervisor to help inform sales and marketing strategy.
- Fulfill mailing requests.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Able to problem solve, prioritize and manage multiple tasks successfully within tight timelines and high stress.
- Able to develop positive, productive relationships with students and their families, as well as Outward Bound staff.
- Experienced in and committed to the delivery of exceptional customer service to all our customers.
- Has sales experience and telephone skills.
- Computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Is willing to work as a team to meet the goals of the department.
- Must be a strong communicator, both verbal and written and excel under pressure.
Education & Work Experience
- Demonstrated customer service and sales skills.
- Sales of experienced-based products preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Salesforce.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
- Outward Bound or other wilderness expeditionary experience (OB, NOLS multi-day course or equivalent) preferred.
- Experience working with diverse teen populations and/or urban youth preferred.
- Fluent in Spanish, Cantonese, or Mandarin
Compensation & Benefits
- This is a Full Time (37.5 hours per week), Hourly, Non-Exempt position. Benefits eligible.
- $33,150-$46,800 depending on experience. Most new hires can expect an offer between the low end of the range and 40k per year.
- Anticipated start date: August 1, 2023, or as arranged.

- Location is flexible, though applicants may need to be available for occasional travel to Asheville, NC or Arvada, CO for training and/or work.

- Must be available to work 10:30am-7:00pm EST Monday - Friday
- The OBSG administrative offices are located in Arvada, CO. We have an additional hub in Asheville, NC. Employees working in proximity to one of these locations may have access to a co-working space.
