Job description
This is a busy and highly responsible role working to provide an effective and efficient admissions service with responsibility for the processing of both undergraduate and postgraduate applications.
This post is based within our postgraduate taught team so you will predominantly have responsibility for processing postgraduate applications, many of which will be applications from international applicants. You will have responsibility for making decisions consistently and fairly against pre-defined entry criteria, and have extensive contact with applicants and staff at a variety of levels within the University, and external contact with other bodies such as UCAS, ECCTIS, UKCISA and the UKVI.
In addition to these duties, you will assist with university applicant and open days, as well as interview and selection events, as necessary. As a multi-site university, you may also be required to undertake occasional work in locations across campuses.
You will need;
- excellent organisational and communication skills.
- the ability to work quickly and accurately, paying good attention to detail.
- to possess good IT skills, including full working knowledge of MS Office.
- a willingness to work flexibly to meet the fluctuating demands of the admissions cycle.
Experience of working with a university student record system, such as SITS, or other large databases and software platforms would be beneficial, as would experience of working in the field of higher education. An understanding of university admissions processes would also be a distinct advantage.
We are looking for a flexible, and proactive colleague who can provide a high level of customer service to applicants and staff, and who is able to work independently and as part of a team.
This is a part-time (30 hours a week), permanent post and we welcome applications from those wishing to job-share.
