Job description
About The Role
Are you collaborative, caring and compassionate?
Heathrow Immigration Removal Centre is a detentions centre located next to Heathrow Airport in Harmondsworth, London Borough of Hillingdon. It is the largest immigration removal centre in Europe, with a capacity of 965 residents – mainly adult males, however it does house some adult female detainees.
Practice Plus Group have recently taken over the contract from the existing providers we will be delivering a fully integrated Health & Wellbeing Service focussing around key patient needs within Heathrow IRC. If you want to make a real difference to someone’s present and future with an opportunity to use all of your clinical and interpersonal skills whilst developing new abilities then this is the place to be.
Our model of care is our Wellbeing Approach – an integrated, comprehensive approach in recognition of the fact prisoners are a socially-excluded group with healthcare needs which are complex and often associated with poor outcomes. It adopts the premise no single health/wellbeing factor can be taken in isolation of other motivational issues which might impact a person’s care.
We can offer training and development in our friendly and supportive teams as well as a range of other employee benefits.
What will you be doing?
You'll be carrying out general administrative duties within the healthcare department of the Immigration Centre. Working within set routines, policies and procedures to provide a comprehensive high quality service to the unit, and able to deal efficiently and courteously with patients and staff enquiries. A key responsibility is the collection and collation of accurate service performance data for internal and external reporting requirements.
The situation can change at any minute. You need to be able to communicate effectively, work as part of a team and follow instruction diligently. It’s this variety that keeps things fresh and stimulating. Every day will bring new challenges and new experiences but you’ll have all the support you need to deliver the best practice possible from the healthcare team.
You'll need to be confident in this setting as the office will be based in a secure environment.
About You
What do we need from you so you can do the job?
In order for you to be successful in this position, you will need to have experience of working in an administration position previously within a clinical or secure setting, and have the ability to prioritise your workload and adapt to an ever changing environment.
It doesn’t stop there… we also offer a company pension scheme which we as Practice Plus Group also pay into, 25 days annual leave increasing with service up to 28 days per year, plus 8 public bank holidays (pro-rata for part-time), NHS blue light card, discounted Costco memberships, access to Boundless memberships for attractions and parks, shopping discounts, free eye tests for computer screen users, an 24/7 employee assistance helpline and financial assistance when you need it.
