We have various permanent and fixed term positions available for the role within our vital Road Safety Support Unit (RSSU) team. The RSSU supports the detection and prosecution of road traffic offences, which range from collisions, officer witnessed offences and other road traffic offences to include speeding and red light offences.
The work that you will do, will ultimately help bring offenders to justice and every person that works for us, is in some way supporting and serving the community we represent.
In this role, your main responsibilities will be:
- Maintain, create and update records on a variety of computerised databases and manual systems.
- Search databases and retrieve data, to build files and records in accordance with police procedures ensuring accuracy and attention to detail throughout.
- Deal with offenders, internal & external agencies over the phone & in writing in line with legislation and policy, for example GDPR.
- Write letters and correspondence in line with the requirements of the unit.
- Perform general administrative duties including printing, scanning, post etc.
- Produce basic statistics for the Team Manager.
Skills, experience and qualifications required:
- You have strong office and administrative experience to include filing, maintaining records and answering queries.
- You are computer literate, with experience of inputting and retrieving data using a computerised database
- You have experience of dealing with people both face to face and over the telephone.
- You have experience of working to guidelines and procedures.
Additional Information:
We have various permanent and fixed term contracts available. Candidates who successfully pass the selection process will be recruited into a reserve pool, this means we will reserve your application for a period of 6 months and offer you positions if / when they become available.

This role has been identified as a blended role.
The successful candidate for this role will have the opportunity to work from home whilst also at a secondary work location, which will be a police premises. The successful applicant will have the option to discuss working arrangements with their line manager. All applicants must reside within the UK.
