You will be working for one of the largest employers in Wales, joining an experienced and motivated group of Officers within the Planning Service, which forms part of the Planning Transport and Environment Directorate. About the job
This post is for an administrative officer in the Registration Team, which is responsible for the registration and validation of planning applications and associated tasks. Cardiff receives the largest number of planning applications in Wales, relating to all types of development and this post is often the first point of contact with applicants and agents submitting planning applications. The Team has very good performance and high customer satisfaction levels despite the large caseload.
In helping to effectively manage how Cardiff develops, the post holder will join the Team to provide assistance, supporting Planning Officers with assessing applications for quality and accuracy, taking payments and ensuring records are created and updated. Responding to queries by email and phone is also part of the role.

What We Are Looking For From You
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can provide efficient and effective assistance to the planning service and manage a busy and a varied workload of general planning enquiries.
You will have good communication and IT skills and have experience of delivering a customer focused service in a professional environment.
Previous experience of working within a local authority or property development role
is desirable.
Additional information
This salary is subject to the Living Wage supplement, which brings pay rates up to £9.90 per hour (scp 1-3). This supplement will be reviewed in April 2023 and thereafter annually in April. Cardiff Council reserves the right to make any changes to, or removal of, the Living Wage supplement.
