Your new role
Southend Council are looking to appoint a full-time temporary/agency Administrative Assistant to support the Children's Social Care service. This position is weekly paid via timesheets. This is a home-based role working on a rota system, so you will only be required to work in the office for one day a week. The role involves accurate minute taking at a variety of meetings, answer phone calls and extract relevant information. You will also be entering data onto our Liquid Logic system this needs to be completed accurately and within set timeframes. As well as general administration duties as required. Training will be provided on all systems which we use. This role is based within the Children's Social Care Service, therefore you will have access to confidential and sometimes distressing information. In your first 2 weeks, you will be required to be fully onsite for training purposes. After this you are required to be onsite 1 day a week. Please only apply if you are able to accommodate this.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate needs to have minute taking experience and be highly motivated with the vital skills, experience and vision to work within a busy children social work environment. You must be flexible, a good communicator, team player, proficient at administration and computer literate. You must also be able to prioritise tasks and re-arrange priorities during the day and have a good attention to detail. This is a highly pressurised and fast paced environment, and we require candidates who thrive on pressure and able to maintain excellent attention to detail. You must be able to communicate to peers and social workers and ensure that the team is informed of any changes as soon as possible.
