Thornberry Animal Sanctuary cares for dogs, cats, horses, rabbits and more. Established in 1988 it is one of the largest charitable animal rescue centres in South Yorkshire. The charity has grown in recent years and is now looking to take further control of its day to day operations and administration. This is an exciting time to join the team and this new role will be pivotol in helping the charity as it continues to grow.
We are looking for an Administrative Assistant to help support our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support across all areas of the business but primarily directly to the General Manager. This will cover all aspects of running and maintaining the site as well as working on specific projects for the sanctuary. There may be some reception duties including greeting members of the public as well as managing diaries and helping out with organising events.
The charity is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual who works well on their own with minimal supervision but can also fit into a busy team in a busy environment. The individual should be well organised and happy that most of the time, no two days are the same. The successful candidate ideally, should be have experience in a similar role and be able to demonstrate their ability to identify issues, see gaps in processes and implement administrative solutions to improve the general running of an area or department.
Main Responsibilities:
- Managing correspondence - drafting and sending replies to emails, and letters in a professional manner as directed by heads of departments.
- Provide direct admin support to the General Manager with general business and project specific tasks onsite.
- Manage a facilities operational diary, carrying out daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly tasks.
- Manage stock control onsite with up to date records, orders, invoices and supplier info for all areas of the business.
- Schedule meetings, events and travel arrangements.
- Manage systems and processes to ensure all relevant admin processes are documented and checklists are in place.
