Office of Children's Services (OCS) is
recruiting for full-time Office Assistant 1 located in
Anchorage, Alaska.
What you will be doing
The Office Assistant I position is responsible for processing all incoming and outgoing discovery documents. Other duties include communicating with various agencies and the public over the phone and email, processing incoming/outgoing legal documents, creating case files, organizing case files, scanning, filing, faxing, and other duties as needed. Daily courier service to OCS offsite offices and various agencies. Back up support for the front desk.

- The successful candidate may be required to attend multiple training courses normally located in Anchorage.

High school diploma or G.E.D.;
OR
Acceptance in full standing by an accredited college (this includes acceptance in a concurrent enrollment or dual enrollment program);
OR
A Career Readiness Certificate with ACT WorkKeys® scores of skill level 3 or higher in: Graphic Literacy (formerly Locating Information), Applied Math, and Workplace Documents (formerly Reading for Information).

"Acceptance in full standing" means acceptance to a post-secondary program by a college or university and does not require enrollment or participation in the program. This includes acceptance in a program offering college credits while in high school, or both high school and college credits, but does not include taking advanced placement courses in high school.
Some positions in this class require the incumbent operate a State vehicle. Such positions require the selected candidate possess a valid driver's license and be 18 years of age or older on or before the first day of employment.
At time of interview applicant is requested to submit:
- A copy of academic transcripts (unofficial are acceptable but must include the institution name/URL on documents provided) if required to meet minimum qualifications.
- A list of three (3) professional* references including daytime telephone numbers and email address; at least two (1) of these must be from a current or former supervisor.
- Professional is defined as a supervisor or an individual who has direct knowledge of your work performance.
EDUCATION
To verify education being used to meet the required minimum qualifications, you must fill in the Education section of the application. If you have not obtained a degree, please indicate the number of units completed. Copies of transcripts are required to verify educational credentials being used to meet the minimum qualifications for a position and are required with each application. SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR FOREIGN EDUCATION
