Why should I choose Somerset Council?

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Administrative Officer to join our Somerset Rivers Authority Team on a fixed term basis until July 2024 to cover maternity.

We’re a hugely ambitious council, committed to improving lives for the residents, communities, and businesses of Somerset.

And that’s why we’re working so hard to build a sustainable organisation with a culture that rewards, values and recognises our staff, and gives everyone here the opportunity to grow and develop, personally and professionally.

If you’re looking for a place where you work truly matters – where YOU truly matter – we might be just right for you.

We also promote a healthy work-life balance and offer flexible working arrangements wherever possible, including working from home.

The Somerset Rivers Authority (SRA) was formed after the major flooding of 2013/14 and is where the flood risk management authorities in Somerset come together to deliver extra flood protection for the county. The (SRA) is a partnership organisation hosted by Somerset Council. The SRA raises money locally to invest in reducing the risk of flooding and increasing community resilience to flooding across Somerset. www.somersetriversauthority.org.uk
