Come join the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) as an Administrative Assistant. You will provide first line administrative support to our Publishing, Technology, and Operations Directorates under the supervision of the Administration Manager, ensuring the continuity and coordination of tasks across departments. As a member of a small administrative team, this role may also deputise for the Administration Manager as required.
Requirements:
- Graduate calibre (or equivalent) with previous administration skills and experience.
- Familiar with use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook, the Internet and creating/maintaining computerised records; interest in learning new technologies is desirable.
- Ability to work in a high-pressured environment and prioritise effectively.

- Ability to develop and implement administrative systems and procedures, using information and communication technology.
- Effective at building relationships and working flexibly across professional and operational boundaries.
The Directorate
RPS is supported in its mission to put pharmacy at the forefront of healthcare by our Knowledge Business, Pharmaceutical Press, which provides high quality, evidence-based information about drugs and develops intuitive products, tools, and services in line with user needs. Our Content, Product Development and Sales & Marketing teams work collaboratively to achieve this aim and are supported by a Technology department which engineers our content and ensures it reaches users in the best possible format. Lastly, our Operations department works across the entire RPS, providing support in the areas of Finance, Human Resources, and Building Facilities. Providing support to such varied teams ensures that each day will be different – you will have the opportunity to learn about Publishing and Business Support processes, develop your skills, and even specialise in the areas which are of most interest to you.
The Team
You will be a member of a small administrative team which works collaboratively to ensure that tasks are covered across multiple directorates. We are dedicated to continual improvement and are always keen to explore new ideas and technologies in order to provide exceptional support for our colleagues.
How we are currently working
The majority of our employees work flexibly between the office and from home. There is an expectation for this role to attend the London office on a minimum of two days per week to provide administrative support onsite as required, and on occasions where there is a need to do so, such as facilitating meetings and attending all staff events.
