Match Foster Care is looking for a business admin apprentice to support with administrative duties, including maintaining accurate records and scheduling appointments. As an Administrator apprentice at Match Foster Care, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our agency. You will be responsible for a wide range of administrative duties, including maintaining accurate records, scheduling appointments, organising activities and events, processing paperwork, and providing support to our dedicated team of professionals. You will be the face of our agency, greeting visitors and answering phones with warmth and professionalism.
In addition to your administrative duties, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our agency's mission of providing stable and loving homes to children in need. You will work closely with our team to help match children with foster families, assist with training and support for our foster parents, and ensure that our agency is compliant with all relevant regulations and standards.
The ideal candidate for this position will have strong organisational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You should be detail-oriented, reliable, and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
As an Administrator apprentice you will be part of the admin and finance team supporting a team of social workers, support workers and managers.
- To provide secretarial and administrative support to staff.
- To support with the annual training and activity programme.
- To undertake all work of a general and clerical nature.
- To work as part of a team.
- To take and transcribe minutes of various meetings within the agency.
- To process incoming and outgoing mail, including email.
- To undertake word processing of letters, memos, reports etc., as required.
- To answer telephone calls in a professional manner, take messages, arrange meetings, foster carer support groups, room bookings and refreshments.
- Reception duties such as greeting and looking after visitors and making drinks.
- To assist in inputting data and the upkeep and maintenance of central computerised records. To provide statistical data as required for monitoring and external examination by Ofsted.
- Manage stationery and office equipment, ordering and ensuring stocks of consumables are kept up to date.
- Assist with the assessment of foster parent process, including statutory checks, references, DBS checks, medicals and proof reading.
- Attend regular supervision facilitated by the office manager.
- To ensure compliance with all the relevant legislation and Match Foster Care policies and procedures.
- Maintain a safe working environment and compliance with all Health and Safety Regulations.
- Employees will be required to follow any other job-related instruction as requested by their manager.
Training Provided
Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your
employer. Match Foster Care will provide you with all of the
on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job
learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.
You will be working towards the Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship
standard, which includes:
Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
Business
Administrator Level 3 apprenticeship standard
Functional
skills in Maths and English if required
This will be delivered through Match
Foster Care’s dedicated training provider, Realise.
Realise is an established training provider that’s enjoying an
exciting period of growth following a management buyout and rebrand in late
2020.
Personal Qualities
We are looking for someone enthusiastic, motivated and organised who would like to join a busy office environment in a role that has a variety of aspects. Need to be a team player but also able to get on with own projects and use initiative.
Entry Requirements and Qualifications
Role will be subject to clean enhanced DBS
Maths and English grade 4/C and above or equivalent
Driving licence desirable but not essential

Both offices have a Train station, a 5-minute walk away.
