An administrator is needed to join the Examination Team to provide administrative support for examinations. The successful candidate will be qualified to A level standard or equivalent, with experience of working with computerised administrative systems as well as database packages and Microsoft Word, Excel and Access. Experience of assessment processes would be advantageous.
Experience required for post: Substantial administration experience. Experience of working autonomously and handling data and information. The post holder is expected to exercise a high level of attention to detail at all times. This role will have access to a very wide range of situations where discretion, good judgement, communication skills and good literacy skills are extremely important. The ability to follow process documents and regulations is vital.
The post holder will have responsibility for:
- the preparation and secure handling/storage of examination papers and materials
- assisting with the monitoring of exam stationary stock
- Assisting with the supervision of invigilators
- Communicating effectively with academic, professional services staff and students
- Assist with the running of exam sessions
- The setting up of online examinations on a Virtual Learning Environment
- Complying with the Equality Act 2010 when allocating online exams provision to alternative provision students.
Applicants should have:
- Effective and efficient administration skills
- Excellent customer service
- Effective communication
- Strong skills in computerised administrative systems
- The ability to work successfully as part of a team
- Hold a First Aid at Work certificate, or be willing to obtain one.
This is an on campus role (not agile), and applicants must be able to work core office hours and additional hours where required during examination sessions and to meet deadlines in their preparation. There is also significant manual handling as part of the role.
This role is a good opportunity to start a career in H.E. and examination administration. Recent previous post holders have been successful in building their skills and experience in this role to enable them to achieve promotions to more challenging roles.
This role will not attract sufficient points to obtain a sponsored Skilled Worker visa under the points-based immigration system, however, applications are welcome from candidates who don’t currently have the right to work in the UK, but who would be eligible to obtain a visa via another route.
The interview will be in person, on campus.
