About the Trust
We are one of the largest hospital trusts in England, with five hospitals and community clinics serving a local population of around 695,000 people. We also provide some specialist services for a wider population, including renal services in Medway and Maidstone and a cardiac service for all of Kent based at William Harvey Hospital, Ashford.
What you’ll be responsible for:
· Attending patients for pre-booked appointments checking accuracy of patient details on PAS/ Soliton.
· Deal with general telephone enquiries, take messages accurately, give information and advice (non-medical) to GP’s, patients, relatives, and other staff involved with the patient in a manner responsive to customer needs and in accordance with trust procedures.
· Work as part of an appointment team making all patient appointments and dealing with any associated enquiries. To ensure patients receive appointment paperwork in line with the Access Policy.
· Ensure all booked appointments are booked according to diagnostic waiting times.
· Receiving and monitoring of blood results to ensure timely appointments are given.
The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above
You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust:
· An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS
· Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
· A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation
You’ll have the following skills/experience:
· Excellent communication skills
· Excellent organisational skills
· Knowledge of Microsoft Packages e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
· Previous administrative experience.
