Admin Assistant
Representing some 9,000 farmers and crofters across the country, NFU
Scotland is the nation’s leading agricultural lobbying body and the media’s ‘go to’ organisation for comment on Scottish food and farming. Our mission is to promote and protect the interests of Scottish food, farming, and crofting by influencing government, the supply chain and engaging with consumers.
To achieve this aim, NFU Scotland works across a dynamic and diverse range of print, online and social media.

Due to an internal transfer, we are looking for an Admin Assistant to join our
Communications Team at our offices near Edinburgh airport. The successful candidate will be charged with a wide variety of administrative tasks, supporting the wider team within the business. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing membership organisation, that will give you the responsibility and ownership in this varied role.
What will I be doing?
- Act as first point of contact for the business with your excellent telephone manner.
- Provide accurate filing of our committee records.
- To communicate and manage the distribution of information with our internal database.
- To manage documentation distribution to our various groups.
- Assisting across all teams with their ad-hoc admin requirements.
Personal Characteristics:
- Self-starter that takes the initiative and works well on their own and in a team.
- Good organisational skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Good interpersonal skills and can communicate on all levels including director level.
- An eagerness to learn and develop
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Monday – Friday 35-hour week
- This is a permanent contract and is full time
