We are seeking an Administrator to work in our busy inpatient ward team. This post covers both reception work and general office duties including filing and typing. The post will be extremely varied and challenging at times but is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic, well organised and conscientious person. The role involves many aspects primarily focused around providing efficient and effective clerical and administration service to the clinical staff under the direction of the ward manager.
This post which is based between a ward area and office environment will include regular telephone and face to face contact with service users, their carers’ and regular contact with other departments within the Trust and with other agencies.
An element of flexibility will be required by the successful applicant with regards to work base, allowing provision of cover for colleagues in different areas when required.
The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills, and be able to take instruction from several sources. The candidate must be able to prioritise own workload and work on own initiative. They must also possess good problem solving skills, have the ability to work within strict time frames, an awareness of patient confidentiality and data protection and a high standard of written/verbal and analytical communication skills. An advanced knowledge of word and excel is essential.
