Job description

Lavender International NDT is an industry leading training school delivering specialised courses and examinations in Non-Destructive Testing to students from around the world. We work primarily with a range of clients from self-sponsored individuals to small businesses to large corporations across a wide range of engineering sectors such as oil and gas, nuclear, wind and aerospace.

The role:
We are currently looking to recruit a dynamic administrative assistant to join our training certification department. The candidate will be required to provide high quality administrative services to clients and students. This will include actively supporting the Admin Manager and Certification Co-ordinator to ensure that all folders and certificates are processed in a timely manner.

The ideal candidate will be a highly organised and pragmatic communicator with previous experience as an administrator providing support to multiple departments and teams.

This is a full-time position based at our office in Penistone, Sheffield. Working hours include 37.5 hours Monday to Friday, 8am – 4pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.

Key duties include:

  • Processing student folders, results, and certificates in an accurate, professional, and efficient manner.
  • Supporting the Quality department with examination student result updates.
  • Maintaining data and record systems using an internal Management system.
  • Answering the main phone line and processing mail when required.
  • General administrative duties to remote centres including file management, photocopying, responding to clients etc.
  • Provide cover for colleagues in other departments when necessary.
  • Plan workload to ensure that tasks and deadlines are met.
  • Dealing with new and existing client enquiries by telephone and e-mail.

Required Competencies:

1. Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task.
2. Previous experience in administration in a busy office environment.
3. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
4. Computer literate in MS Office including Word and Excel and other digital platforms.
5. Excellent telephone manner.
6. Ability to work both alone and as part of a team.
7. Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
8. Attention to detail and accuracy is essential.
9. Qualification as an Administrative assistant would be advantageous.
