Job description
As a key member of the Governance Directorate, the Governance Administrator will provide administration support to the development and implementation of quality governance processes. Working closely with the Directorate Head of Nursing and Quality and Matrons.
The role will support with the analysis and interpretation of quality and patient safety data and provide oversight of the local administration systems, providing solutions and effective support where needed. The role will work closely alongside the Governance Officer reporting through to the Governance Lead. You will be confident contributing to the design and development of reports and use your understanding of clinical audit and quality improvement to support a full range of administration procedures and project support.

Quality and Governance
- To design reports and demonstrate technical ability to use databases to translate into meaningful reports and initial analysis.
- To take initiative, following initial analysis, to investigate reasons for data and statistics produced and highlight where corrective action might need to be taken.
- Create graphs and simple databases in collaboration with the Governance Officer.
- Support all data quality initiatives.
- Provide administration support to the development and review of current quality data metrics and implementation of a revised strategy.
- To ensure that systems exist to track actions that arise from Directorate Governance Committees such as the Operational Quality Committee and Serious Incident Panel.
- To devise systems that enables the Governance Officer in keeping up to date and monitoring the Directorate risk register, CQC improvement work evidence and other systems as required by the Directorate.
- To support the governance officer in devising and managing electronic spread sheets maximising digital solutions / databases as part of quality improvement projects and to carry out appropriate data analysis from Serious Incidents and present appropriate graphical representation of audit / project results.
- To provide administration system to support the Governance Officer in monitoring progress and implementation of any SI/Complaint recommendations.
- To devise a system to enable the Governance Officer in the identification and gathering of learning needs and themes from SI and Complaint recommendations.
- Work alongside the Governance Officer and Governance lead to ensure that there is robust system to ensure that the information maintained on Datix Incident System is accurate and up to date.
- To provide administration support to the Governance Officer to ensure that there is a system of daily oversight of all Directorate Incidents, complaints and compliments.
- To support the Directorate Governance team, in the delivery of training and education on all aspects of clinical governance to Directorate teams as required by the Directorate, and to provide administration support to the evaluation the effectiveness of such training.
- To devise an administration system that collates learning from Serious Incidents and audits to highlight training needs to the Training & Education Department.
