Administrative Assistant (5 month temporary cover)
Salary (full-time equivalent): £20-30k DOE + pension
Closing date: 17th September 2023

Location: Home-working, but headquartered in Bristol, UK
Term: 5 months temporary cover (October 2023 - February 2024)
Pattern: Flex-time 2-3 days per week, depending on availability
We are seeking an enthusiastic and hard-working individual to help with administration of our small but growing health economic consulting business. The successful candidate will help manage projects, accounts, client meetings, prepare deliverables (slide decks and reports), and assist with general legal, financial and tax issues. Beyond high numeracy and Microsoft Office experience, our only requirement is that the candidate have a willingness to learn and be entrepreneurial.
Clifton Insight was founded in 2014 as a network of academics interested in developing new statistical and health economic methodologies in a commercial setting. Topics include systematic literature reviews, real world evidence, meta-analysis and network meta-analysis, population adjusted indirect comparisons, health economic modelling, and value of information analysis. There are only a small number of full-time staff but a network of over 10 subcontractors. We are all involved in path-breaking research and have strong links with Universities across the world.
Duties
- Help ensure projects meet deadlines and keep track of deliverables
- Manage annual accounts, submit and process invoices
- Assist with preparing project proposals for clients
- Format Microsoft Powerpoint, Word and Excel deliverables (e.g. slide decks and reports)
- Arrange contracts with clients, staff and subcontractors
- Assist with legal, financial and tax queries
- Take minutes during meetings
- Conduct business strategy research (e.g. new clients, markets, or work processes)
- Assist with project delivery (if interested)
- HR assistance including monthly payroll tasks and logging holiday
- Manage IT systems (primarily SharePoint)
Essential qualities
- Entrepreneurial
- Eagerness to learn the business
- High numeracy (you will be managing budgets so must be comfortable with basic maths)
- Experience with Microsoft Office
Desirable qualities
- Experience/qualification in business or other administration
- Experience/qualification in accountancy
- Experience with SharePoint management
- Good A-levels or relevant undergraduate degree
- Knowledge of healthcare, mathematics, statistics or economics
- Experience in health economic consulting (e.g. know UK NICE does or understand relevance of systematic reviews, network meta-analysis, and economic modelling)
