Background
Launched at the start of the 2022/23 academic year, LawIRL is a collection of opportunities for students of City Law School to experience the law beyond the classroom and 'In Real Life'.
These opportunities include court visits, mock trials, legal work placements, and our award-wining Community Legal Advice Centre (CityCLAC).
We aim to combine practical real-world legal education experiences with the provision of free legal services to the local community. Through this we hope to widen access to justice for those unable to afford to instruct a lawyer.

Responsibilities
To support all aspects of the administration of LawIRL and the City Community Legal Advice Centre (CityCLAC), ensuring a high standard service; assisting and supporting students, volunteer lawyers, and clients.
The post requires regular evening sessions (finishing up to 8pm) during term time operation (30 weeks of the year). An adjustment to working hours, or time off in lieu will be offered.
Person Specification
The role holder will possess strong organisational skills, excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and oral, as well as the ability to work effectively on their own initiative as well as part of a small busy team. The role holder will have the ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst managing competing demands. The role holder will also be highly proficient with IT systems such as Microsoft Office, Zoom, Teams, and Moodle (or another Virtual Learning Environment).

Subject to agreement, relevant Professional Services roles may be undertaken in a hybrid way. This involves a combination of working on campus and at home each week.
