Job description
We are looking to recruit a full time or part time Prescriptions Administrator to our friendly Practice team who support our clinical team across our GP practices to provide a high standard of care for our patients. Hours to be agreed with the successful candidate, if full time hours will be 7.5 hours per day with start and finish times to be agreed between the hours of 8.00am until 6.30pm. We are ideally looking to recruit to a full time position but are also happy to consider two part-time posts to fill the vacancy.
The successful candidate will be based at Chapel Lane Surgery however will be required on occasion to work from The Hollies Family Surgery.
Ideally you will have some experience of General Practice and some knowledge of medications however is not essential.
General Practice is a fast-paced extremely busy, challenging and extremely rewarding environment. Therefore, the ability to work accurately, quickly and efficiently is essential.

Job Summary
To provide a friendly and welcoming service to all patients, staff and visitors to the Surgery and to deal with all enquiries/tasks in a competent and thorough manner.
Prescription Administrator Duties
Answering telephone calls
Dealing with all requests from patients, staff and health care professionals
Updating patient details on the clinical system
Generating repeat prescriptions
Liaising with local pharmacies and dealing with queries
Filing repeat prescriptions and letters for collection
Giving out result comments from G Ps
Reading emails and responding as required, daily
Chase clinic letters from hospitals regarding medication changes
Dealing with odd quantity queries and requesting them once a form is completed
Adding on INR results for Warfarin medication
Chasing shared care protocols when required for Amber drugs
Dealing with prescription enquiries from patients
Ensuring that all prescription request forms are up-to-date
Logging and posting prescription to patients if required in SAE
Generating acute prescriptions if advanced training completed
Generating monitored drug prescriptions and downloading blood test results from ICE
Sending tasks and liaising with the medicine management hub
Promoting repeat dispensing and online ordering
Supporting Pharmacy Technicians and Clinical Pharmacists
Ability to prioritise workload and time management whilst working in a very busy environment and supporting others
Any other duties deemed commensurate with the job grade
Undertaking all training as required for the job role
