Position overview
We are seeking a highly organised and diligent Administrative Assistant to join our growing team and support the smooth running of the Company’s back-office functions.
In this role, you will focus on supporting the Management team and Office Manager in the administration of HR and finance functions, in co-ordination with our external professional advisors and accountants. You will have responsibility for daily office functions including scheduling of meetings, coordinating travel, communicating across cross-functional teams and organising the workspace.

Key Responsibilities:
- Office management: Support daily office activities, including supply management, workspace organisation and manage visitor bookings.
- Diary and travel coordination: Efficient communication and scheduling of meetings, appointments, arranging shipments, and booking UK and international travel and accommodation.
- Laboratory Orders Reconciliation: Submission of laboratory consumable invoices to finance portal within set timelines.
- Record Management: Maintain accurate laboratory and IT equipment Asset registers, including warranty and service review dates.
- Cross-Functional Assistance: Provide general administrative support to various departments, such as HR, finance, and marketing, when required.
Essential Competencies:
- Education: A-levels or equivalent. Further education or certifications in office administration would be advantageous.
- Experience: Previous administrative experience is essential.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with colleagues and external contacts.
- Tech Savviness: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and adaptable to new software and tools.
- Organisational Prowess: Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail for efficient task management and accurate record-keeping.
- Time Management: Ability to prioritise tasks, manage time effectively, and meet UK-specific deadlines.
- Professionalism: Maintain high levels of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity in handling sensitive information.
Desirable Competencies:
- Experience working with finance and/or accounts
- Further education or certifications in office administration
- Experience in a commercial/corporate environment
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 30-37.5 per week
Salary: £20,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
