The Hive is a new provision being opened by Hill Park School on a newly refurbished site in September 2023.
The Hive is for 30 autistic students between Y7 and Y11 who have high anxiety that prevents them accessing mainstream secondary schools or facilities co-located at mainstream secondary schools.
Many will have been home educated or accessing tutoring packages due to the barriers they face attending school. They will be able to access an age related curriculum and achieve GCSE’s and other Secondary accreditations.
About the role
We require a caring, friendly receptionist who has past experience of working in a busy office, and as being the first point of contact for the school, it is important the applicant has a professional, positive and friendly attitude.
The role will also include being responsible for the administrative side of the new after school club that will be running out of our Portslade school site, taking bookings, invoicing etc.
Candidates should be able to provide evidence of:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of a range of ICT packages, including Microsoft Office and Office365 email system
- Knowledge of SIMS/FMS (School Information Management System) and previous experience of working within a school office would be advantageous.
- Good organisational and time management skills and able to use their own initiative
- Flexible, adaptable and understand what makes a good team
- Having a positive attitude to pupils with special needs including challenging behaviour
- Adaptability to work across the three Hill Park School offices as and when required
