Human Resources announces an opening for a 1.0 FTE Educational Administrative Coordinator II . This is a 260-day, Grade G-11 located at Washington-Liberty High School .
Performs one or more sets of the following; may not include all duties performed; not all incumbents perform all essential functions delineated :
- Serve as personal administrative assistant to the principal.
- Perform complex and responsible secretarial duties, manage main school office, coordinate school wide clerical activities, and supervise subordinate clerical staff.
- Serve as the substitute teacher coordinator.
- Coordinate building utilization tasks.
- May process student special education procedures.
- Serve as back-up for other office staff in their absence.
- Review outgoing correspondence for format and grammar.
- May be asked to dispense medication to students when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Experience in successfully supervising others in a small office setting.
- Work effectively under minimum supervision.
- Willing to work in a busy and transitioning environment.
- Experience with special education process.
- Experience with Microsoft environment (e.g., MS Word, Excel, and Access), including ability to use technology in the school office setting.
- High School diploma or GED, supplemented by courses in business/office practices including bookkeeping principles plus responsible secretarial/clerical experience.
- Thorough knowledge of procedures, practices, programs, and operations of public schools.
- Knowledge of business and school office procedures, practices, and equipment; business English and office terminology.
- Knowledge of the operation, uses and capabilities of computer equipment and computer programs utilized at APS (e.g. Synergy and Frontline; including good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with others at all levels, including school staff, students, parents, and the public.
- Must maintain confidentiality, exercise tact, good judgment, and initiative.
Salary range of $23.96 to $43.22 per hour based upon 23/24 pay plan.
Newly hired employees with previous experience in their field may receive salary credit for up
to five years of experience related to the job being filled.
