Band 6 £21,968 - £24,054 pa (pro rata for part time posts)

We are looking to appoint an Administration Officer to join the team at H.M. Coroner’s Office, in the delivery of a high quality Coronial Service to the people of the West Yorkshire Western area (the area covered by Bradford, Kirklees and Calderdale Councils) in accordance with the related legislation.
The role is office based, the team is based at the new Coroners Court in Bradford.
You must be able to work independently providing a confidential, efficient and professional service on behalf of HM Coroner. This role is very demanding, varied and satisfying.
You will be required to act as the first point of contact providing advice and guidance for the Coroner’s service, dealing with enquiries in person, in writing and on the telephone to bereaved families, Coroner’s Officers, Pathologists, Mortuary staff, Funeral Directors, Registrars, members of the Medical Profession, the Police and other Interested Parties.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous coronial experience
- Competent in a range of IT tools
- Ability to work with others
- Good written and oral communication skills.
Due to the sensitive nature of the role, it is essential that the successful candidate has the ability to maintain a detached view, whilst dealing with deceased of all ages and having direct exposure to statements and exhibits of a distressing nature.
The ability to work flexibly to accommodate the needs of the service is essential.
