Role
We are looking for a professional candidate to join our recruitment team as an Administration Assistant. The purpose of the role is to provide administrative and clerical support to the Unitemps team,
to provide advice and guidance to students and to promote Unitemps within The University of Northampton and externally.
Duties and responsibilities
- To be the first point of contact for all students, staff members and members of the public.
- Carrying out eligibility to work checks and ensure correct information is uploaded to internal database Adapt.
- Placing job adverts onto Unitemps website and external job boards.
- Completing payroll documentation in a timely manner.
- Keeping accurate records in the Unitemps and central database of all activity.
- Assisting the Senior Recruiter to plan and implement marketing campaigns.
- Attending networking events when required.
- Assisting recruiters with arranging interviews and shortlisting applications.
- To monitor the Unitemps inbox by prioritising requests from other administrative departments and academic staff and provide support to the team.
- To act as an effective team member and to manage own diary and workload.
- To maintain good working relationships and communications with colleagues in other areas of the University and external stakeholders.
- The post holder will be expected to undertake other responsibilities and tasks as reasonably requested by the Senior Recruitment team.
Skills and experience
- GCSE, vocational qualification (NVQ 3) or equivalent.
- Knowledge and experience of databases.
- Customer service delivery.
- An understanding of the complexities of employment legislation.
- Ability to communicate clearly, explaining questions and responding to students, academic staff and external stakeholders.
- Ability to plan and schedule work.
- Competent numeracy and IT skills.
- Competent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to deal with challenging situations involving staff and/or students.
- Ability to adapt to the changing environment and changing situations and to adjust workload accordingly.
- Ability to deal with high workloads and pressures of deadlines.
- Ability to adapt to organisational change.

Additional information
This role is part time 25 hours a week, 9:30am-2:30pm, Monday to Friday, although there may be some flexibility with this. This role is initially for a period of 12 months.
