Spiral Sussex are seeking an Administrative Assistant to assist at their Media Centre for adults with learning disabilities. This is a fun and challenging role within the Sussex Community, providing some of the most vulnerable people in society with opportunities to socialise, learn and have fun.
Spiral Sussex are a registered charity offering adults with learning difficulties of mixed abilities and ages the opportunity to gain skills in all aspects of media through making Radio-shows, Filming, Music, Photography, & Computers.
Spiral hosts the only 24-hour radio station run by adults with learning difficulties. Spiral also provides supported holidays, and activities throughout the week, weekends and evenings including; assisted arts and crafts, day trips, karaoke, sports and more.
Details of the role:
- The Admin Assistant will assist in the daily running of the centre, operating from 9-4 Monday-Friday. There is scope for this role to be part time or full time.
- This is a diverse role and on occasion you will split your time to help to support the broad range of activities provided at Spiral Sussex as a Support Worker. As there is something to suit the diverse range of individuals we see throughout the week, we welcome input from specific skills within media, arts, drama and music and more.
- Working with us ensures clients can pursue their hobbies and interests at the centre and as a result develop their social life and work training experience. This is a great way to meet people, and we offer many opportunities to learn new skills with us while giving back to the Sussex community.
What we are looking for:
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
- Kindness, empathy and patience.
- Able to use initiative.
- You must have had both COVID-19 vaccines.
Training will be provided on-site and a clear DBS will be required and arranged by Spiral.

Salary: From £11.00 per hour
