Barnsley College are looking for a new Administration Assistant to provide support to our wider personnel function during a Maternity cover contract.

Administration Assistant
Human Resources department
Maternity Cover - 37 hours per week
£21,382 per annum
Our HR Department are responsible for several different areas including recruitment, payroll, monitoring sickness and absence, onboarding, training and development plus many other responsibilities. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to boost their career within a Human Resources environment whilst working alongside experienced professionals.
We are looking for an Administration Assistant to undertake a range of administrative processes in support of the Human Resources function. Main duties include:
- Overseeing new starter processes and onboarding
- Holding meetings with applicants to check new starter documentation
- Producing contracts and letters
- Ensuring safeguarding checks and mandatory training are complete
- Updating and maintaining various databases and information systems
- Liaising with applicants and Line Managers regarding outstanding documentation and start dates
- Sending reference requests
This role requires the ability to meet competing deadlines and demonstrate high standards of accuracy, as this is vital to effectively support the wider College function. You will need to be extremely organised, flexible and able to handle a variety of simultaneous tasks in a fast-paced environment. Our HR Assistants also provide excellent customer service whilst supporting all College employees. In return, there will be investment in your continuous professional development and you will be supported by a team of experienced colleagues.
