About the role
This role provides leadership for the ASE professional services team, support to the ASE Director and Senior Management Team (SMT) and is the key liaison point between ASE and Professional Services (PS) colleagues in the IoA. The postholder has responsibility for ensuring that systems and processes are fit for purpose, delivering operational excellence and financial compliance across all administrative activities. The role will ensure UCL, Faculty and Departmental policies and strategies are fully implemented at all times.
The postholder is responsible for the line management, support and development of ASE’s PS team, currently comprising 1 x HR Administrator, 2 x Finance Administrators, 1 x Administration Officer.
The post plays a key role in supporting the work of the ASE Director and SMT to deliver a high quality, professional service to staff, clients and other stakeholders, both internal and external to UCL.
About you
The postholder will hold a relevant degree or have equivalent competency gained through any combination of education, training and experience. They will be expected to demonstrate knowledge of administration processes. They should have excellent organisational skills, with proven ability to prioritise work and deliver against demanding deadlines.
The postholder will build relationships and maintain operational integrity with the IoA PS team and Central UCL Professional Services colleagues (e.g. Finance, Estates, and Human Resources). The postholder will network with staff within the Department (UCL Institute of Archaeology), Faculty and central UCL services to ensure effective professional services support for ASE.
