Job description
We are looking for a competent individual to facilitate the administration and logistics activity of our young and growing company within the steel sector from September 2023.
The ideal candidate will have great attention to detail and a customer-oriented approach to ensure all aspects of the customer service and logistics administrational activities are carried out in a timely and effective manner.
We offer remote working with potential further progression for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor customer orders in line with the requirements of the client by liaising with the supporting steel mill (s)
- Track the shipment of material according to despatch programme and liaise with external transport companies on a daily basis
- Record and update client orders and arrange supporting documents in a timely manner
- Keep records of shipments / imports into the UK
- Record basic financial data for upper management including expenses and associated costs to the business
Requirements and skills
- Experience in customer service / logistics is essential
- Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes is essential
- IT Literate in Microsoft Office is essential
- Outstanding organisational and coordination abilities are essential
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential
- Experience of working within an industrial market sector will be appreciated
- Knowledge of Xero, or similar Windows based systems will be appreciated
Role hours and environment
· Initially 20 hours per week spread across 5 days, subject to change within an agreed notified period. Full time hours maybe required moving forward, subject to the needs of the business.
· Remote working (with some requirement to attend management meetings when required).
· The role is subject to a 6-month trial period
· Competitive salary, dependant on experience.
