An exciting opportunity has arisen to be a member of a professional team that provides comprehensive, high quality waiting list management services for the University Hospitals Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust.

Site: FGH

You will be responsible for providing admin support to the Waiting List Office team in the management of elective inpatient waiting lists, liaising with other departments and external agencies to ensure performance standards are met.

It is essential that you have the ability to work in a demanding environment using empathy and diplomacy when dealing with complex and sensitive information on a daily basis.

You will provide an information and communication link between the patient and their elective admission to hospital, while supporting the team to provide an effective, organised, comprehensive, efficient and high quality patient centred service.

A high level of computer skills are essential and you will be required to work on the Microsoft program Excel daily.

Only candidates who meet the essential criteria will be shortlisted for an interview.

We operate from three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.

FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.

WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.

All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
