Pay: £10.00 - 11.28 per hour.

Shifts: 9am to 6pm with a 1 hour break

Hours: Monday to Friday 40 hours a week

The role: To provide a needs led service to adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, autism, mental health and complex health needs, by adopting a person-centred approach which encourages personal growth and independence. To maintain high standards ensuring the compliance with national and local care standards.

Our ideal candidate:

  • Proactive person who can use your own decision making
  • Active listening skills
  • Experience within the care industry, CQC or equivalent (desirable not essential)
  • 1 year+ experience in a similar role
  • The ability to multi-task at a very high level
  • Good time management, organization, attention to detail and flexibility
  • Confident with Microsoft Office.
  • A ‘can do’ attitude

Key responsibilities:

  • Support people with learning disabilities to the highest standard and in line with their support plan, cultural needs and wishes.
  • Work closely with the team leaders in delivering high quality positive behavioural plans and person centred routines.
  • Deliver routines based on individual communication needs.
  • Support people with personal care if required, which may include toileting and bathing, in line with their support plan.
  • To provide guidance and support to the staff team with their day to day duties and support.
  • To create positive working environment which enables LHA values and business and objectives.
  • Problem solving issues as they arise.
  • Supporting management and team leaders with business objectives an initiatives.
  • Raising staff issues with employees if they are witnessed to not following job descriptions and policies and procedures.
  • Complete spot checks as requested by team leader.
  • To ensure service users rights, dignity, health/wellbeing and privacy are maintained at all times.
  • To direct support workers in their duties and undertake observation of support workers in their interactions with service users and other duties.

  • To systematically solve problems on a day to day basis.
  • Planning and implementing activities for groups, 1:1 and 2:1 support which meet their individual support needs and goals.
  • Monitoring of goal sheets for each individual in the service.
  • To monitor and assist with activity risk assessments within the service.
  • Promote and implement LHA values through activity based activities.
  • Promote social, educational, independence, daily living skills and other recreational activities.
  • To organise community activities and day trips for individuals.
  • Complete monthly activity reports.
  • Overseeing the smooth delivery of activities throughout the week.
  • To ensure a safe environment and to protect the service users from harm.
  • To assist and the support the team with incidents and accidents by ensuring records are completed accurately.
  • Ensure daily paperwork is completed accurately by the teams they support.
  • To solve day to day problems as they arise with the team leader on shift or in the absence of a team leader.
  • To maintain client and business confidentiality at all times.
  • Keep accurate and up to date records.
  • Work positively with colleagues, families and external organisations and professionals.
  • Improve the support provided by discussing any new ideas.
  • Participate in learning and development opportunities as required.
  • Undertake any other duties as appropriate.
