As Active Travel Officer you will be at the forefront of walking and cycling improvements across the City and County of Swansea. You will be working on high-quality infrastructure scheme development, plans and proposals for the future, and working with stakeholders to deliver high-quality and ambitious active travel schemes for those who live, work and visit the area.
This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual that has knowledge and understanding of how to make active travel (walking, wheeling and cycling) more accessible for all.
You will support the management, development and administration of the extensive active travel programme, and will be the main point of contact for active travel related questions and queries from members of the public using the existing network.
You will liaise, engage and consult with both internal and external stakeholders to deliver schemes that meet the needs of users whilst contributing to the delivery of a sustainable transport system. This will support and enable individuals across communities to choose walking and cycling for their everyday journeys by providing the necessary infrastructure to enable them to do so.
The role offers the chance to work on a diverse range of active travel projects, working within the Transport Strategy team. Candidates should have relevant experience of programme and project management / support, experience of supporting the delivery of active travel projects and a good understanding of the Active Travel (Wales) Act 2013.
