Job introduction
More people Moving More
Our dynamic Healthy Lifestyles Team are looking for a talented new recruit to help Brighton & Hove residents become more active. Simply moving more has a big impact on health and wellbeing and those who are the least active have the most to gain from moving more.
Following the period of pandemic restrictions, we are now developing our ten-year sport and physical activity strategy for the city. Through it, we hope to make Brighton and Hove one of the most active cities in the country. Our active for life workers are already busy encouraging people to return to physical activity; especially those who face barriers to doing so, such as older people, black and minority ethnic residents and those with physical or mental long-term conditions or disabilities. Confidence levels have dropped for many, and the team are doing everything they can to support people to get back better or to adopt a more active lifestyle for the first time.
The job is fun, rewarding and varied with scope for career progression and development. It involves working collaboratively to set up and deliver community sport and physical activity programmes, working on community events, supporting groups and individuals and spreading the word about the benefits of moving more.
Visit our web pages for a summary of our current Active for Life offer.
