Schaper Construction is a National General Contractor with headquarters located in San Jose.
We are looking to hire an entry-level Accounts Receivable Assistant working in the San Jose office. This role will be under the direction and supervision of the department manager. Your duties will include but not be limited to providing financial, administrative, and clerical services. Accounts receivable duties will include sending out completed billing, establishing good relationships with customers, applying payments from checks, automatic deposits, and credit cards all under the direction of the billing manager. Weekly reporting to Manager and working closely with other project managers.
Responsibilities may also include:
- Process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
- Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivables data
- Prepare bills, invoices and bank deposits
- Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted
- Verify discrepancies by and resolve clients’ billing issues
- Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients
- Generate financial statements and reports detailing accounts receivable status
Skills Required:
- Two Years Accounting Experience preferred but not required
- Able to take direction from manager
- Strong math and google suite (documents/sheets) required
- Team Player
- Proven working experience in accounting
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
- Hands-on experience in operating spreadsheets and accounting software such as American Contractor, Quickbooks, Microsoft Suite
- Excellent written communication, email skills, able to verbalize questions and communicate with team easily
- Proficient typing skills
