Job description
We’re excited to share that an opportunity to join our Finance team has arisen. This is a new role to our business, as the role has previously been outsourced, so is a great chance to enjoy a new challenge whilst making the role your own and driving the function forward.
The Accounts Payable Manager will be working on the Group’s Fresh business, a multi award-winning student accommodation provider with over 22,000 beds in the portfolio across the UK & Ireland. The role sits within the Group Finance function reporting directly to the Financial Controller and will lead the Accounts Payable function working closely with many areas of the business, especially the Procurement team, to ensure the management and control of processes in relation to supplier activities.
A key part of the role is to create and then maintain strong working relationships with our suppliers, supporting the cash management of the business area and our client accounts.
Based from our office in Sheffield, this role offers the flexibility to work from home 2 / 3 days per week and will include travel to our London offices to work with the wider team once or twice per month.
About You
As you’ll be leading the function, it’s essential that you have Accounts Payable experience and have demonstrable knowledge of managing or interacting with an outsourced / shared service Accounts Payable function. Ideally, you’ll hold an Accounting or Bookkeeping qualification, however its more important that you have working knowledge of an Accounts Payable Manager role with VAT knowledge and strong planning and analytical skills.
Due to the nature of this role and the liaison with many internal and external stakeholders, we’d like you to have business partnering experience and have the ability to create and maintain respectful, effective working relationships.
