Accounts Payable Officer


Worcester based with a balance of home and office working

We have an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Payable Officer to join our Accounts Payable team based at our head office in Worcester. You will deliver, improve and maintain effective and efficient administration systems. As well as supporting the delivery of our Finance Services by providing managers and staff with clear guidance and advice in regard to queries, ensuring you are delivering high quality customer focused services.


The role of Accounts Payable Officer will include:

  • Resolving vendor queries and reconciling vendor statements in a timely manner
  • Maintaining effective and efficient administrative processes and identifying improvements to support the provision of accounts payable services
  • Providing managers and staff with clear guidance and advice, in response to accounts payable queries, ensuring compliance with Group policy and legislation
  • Assisting in the development of accounts payable administration and processes to provide efficient, customer focused services
  • Supporting the development and maintenance of effective relationships with stakeholders, assisting in addressing any issues or shortfalls

Skills and experiences:

  • NVQ2 in relevant area (e.g. business administration, customer service) or AAT part or fully qualified is desirable
  • Proven experience of working in an administrative role
  • Experience of working in a customer service environment
  • Experience of organising own workload, prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines
  • Good communication, interpersonal and customer care skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
