Job description

Established Large bakery with deep roots in Artisan Chilled and Frozen breads for the UK & European markets is looking to recruit an Accounts Payable Assistant . Reporting directly into the Finance Manager, this role will support the purchase ledger team and will be responsible for inputting, processing and reconciling purchase invoices.

Hours of Work: 40 hrs per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30-17:00

Main duties:

Timely and accurate logging, coding, entering & filing of supplier invoices/credit notes daily.
Requesting statements from vendors and reconcile statements once in a month.
Deal with supplier queries, contractors, and other business departments about accounts payable or payments made.
Timely payments of suppliers and staff by BACS and cheques.
Distributing invoice copies for authorisation among the relevant departments internally.
Liaise with the purchasing team and other departments to resolve invoice queries.
Preparation of period end accruals, through use of unauthorised invoices, goods received not invoiced and departmental heads.
Agree Inter Company balances monthly
Assist with preparation of periodic management accounts.
Preparation & submission of period end VAT & Intrastat reports.
Conduct Aged Creditor reconciliation and prepare for review. Close purchase ledger.
Assist with other Adhoc duties as and when required.

The Candidate:

Previous experience working within payables
Excellent time management and organisation skills to meet deadlines and demands.
Good IT skills encompassing the ability to use Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Attention to detail and able to work to a high degree of accuracy
A strong communicator

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
