About The Role
Job title: Accounts Payable Assistant
Salary: £23,000- £25,000 depending on experience
Hours: 37 Hours per week, Monday- Friday
Location: High Wycombe and Home-based
What you will do:
As an Accounts Payable Assistant, you will accurately process purchase ledger invoices and payments to suppliers, engaging in actions that enable efficient delivery of tasks, while pro-actively managing KPIs to drive constant improvement.
What you are responsible for:
- Engage in the processing of supplier invoices and ensure accurate 3-way purchase order matching and coding
- Process monthly direct debit invoices and manual payment invoices as required
- Request refunds, apply credit notes and conduct regular supplier statement reconciliations
- Ensure queries regarding invoicing are investigated and resolved within our SLA’s, working collaboratively with the wider procurement team as required
- Prepare supplier payment runs in accordance with set timetables and budgets
- Partner with relevant Category Manager to achieve high standards of supplier relationship management and effective query resolution
- Participate in month end and year end duties.
- Support the Accounts Payable manager with ad hoc duties from daily admin tasks to audit and system projects.
- Support the wider accounts payable and finance team as required to meet deadlines and targets
- Open and distribute incoming post and manage the AP mailbox
- Perform effective filing duties, manage electronic and paper files, while keeping all information and reports up to date
We are looking for someone who has:
- A strong understanding of the importance a Finance team holds within a large scale organisation
- An ability to prioritise tasks whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
- The confidence to build relationships with suppliers, colleagues and stakeholders
- Knowledge and understanding of the Data Protection Act, Caldicott Principles and GDPR
- The ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
- The ability to manage a complex, diverse and time pressured workload
- Strong analytical and numerical skills in relation to data management and payments
- Achieved Maths and English GCSE’s
You should apply if you have experience in:
- Working for a fast paced finance team, with experience in Accounts Payable
- Different finance systems and the ability to learn new systems quickly
- Building strong customer relationships with the ability to communication confidently and professionally with internal and external parties
- Processing a large volume of invoices accurately and efficiently
- Managing a relationship with set suppliers and managing this effectively
