Job description
The Staff Bureau is a team working within the Corporate and Shared Services section of the Finance Division. It is a service providing temporary accounting assistance to any department or associated body of the University, charged at an hourly rate. Departments may require assistance due to vacancies, maternity leave or may decide to use the Staff Bureau on an ongoing basis to cover a part-time role.
The Role
You can be deployed to any department at short notice and will be responsible to the Head of Department or their nominated departmental administrator. You will provide a full range of accounting duties, primarily using CUFS, to departments either as the main finance person or assisting the departmental accounts team with short to long term accounting needs.
Your Skills
Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent, you will be expected to have an appropriate AAT qualification, or equivalent, with at least 3 years' experience working in a busy financial or administrative function in a large organisation. In addition you would need to be highly skilled in processing accounting transactions, highly numerate, flexible with duties and able to work independently.

Location
This role, in the Staff Bureau team is based in Greenwich House, Madingley Road, However travel to other University sites will be required.
The University is supportive of hybrid working, where some work is undertaken on University premises and some in a remote working environment. The aim of our approach is to enable as many staff as possible to work in a hybrid way if they wish and where their role allows.
Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a basic disclosure and a security check.
