Job description
We are looking for an accounts assistant who has previously supported on multiple month and year ends and can hit the ground running in our finance team. Taking a lead on such activities as accounts receivable, accounts payable, sales ledger, purchase ledger, Ziffittrade payments and multi-currency bank reconciliations.
The successful candidate will form an integral part of the finance team reporting into the Finance Manager.
About the role
- Supporting the Management Accountants in month end processes, including journal preparation, intercompany postings on the Finance system and reconciliation of some control accounts.
- Processing B2C sales ledger invoices, reconciling payments and maintaining clean sales ledgers. This will include closing sales ledgers within2 working days of month end.
- Issuing Shopiago invoices and working with teams to manage the Shopiago debtors ledger
- Managing daily Ziffit trade payments, through PayPal, BACS and cheques and assisting with any queries.
- Ιmporting bank statements into accounting system daily.
- Disbursements from the platforms to ensure regular cashflow.
Bank reconciliations.
- Processing purchase ledger invoices and checking back to purchase orders.
- Liaising with suppliers to request invoices, confirm payments and answer queries.
- Monitor and maintain our purchase order system, ensuring all spend is authorised in line with purchase orders.
- Preparing weekly payment runs for suppliers.
- Setting up bank transactions such as transfers and payments for expense claims and one-off purchases.
- Identifying inter-company bank transfers based on available balances.
About You
- You will have a good academic record and experience in a finance role.
- You will have demonstrable experience of purchase and salesledgers, alongside cash and bank.
- The nature of the role means the individual will need to demonstrate a highly methodical approach to work.
- To excel in the role, you will perform tasks with extreme accuracy, taking pride in your work.
Given the importance of the role to the core finance function, you will be working with colleagues in our team and across the wider business. You will therefore need to be an excellent communicator, proactively tackling issues and advising the business of any issues or challenges.
Beyond being an effective communicator, you will enjoy working in a team environment. As a fast growing, private equity backed business, we have tight deadlines. We must work together effectively to ensure fast and accurate reporting.
