Job description
Due to continued growth, we are seeking a talented individual to join the High Wycombe office as an Accounts Assistant within our Audit and Accounts team. The successful candidate is expected to be at least AAT qualified or qualified by experience who will be responsible for the preparation of accounts and VAT returns for a broad range of clients, including partnerships, trusts, sole traders and companies covering various sectors.
The role
The role is hybrid in accordance with our flexible working policy, however, he/she/they may be required to carry out work at client premises, if necessary. The successful candidate will provide the following services to our clients:
- Preparation of management and statutory financial accounts for a varied range of high calibre clients
- Preparation of quarterly VAT returns
- Maintenance of client accounting records
- Preparation and submission of other statutory returns and filings
- Assisting managers with looking after a large portfolio of accounts clients including coaching/supervising junior staff as required
The team
You will be joining an experienced and established team with the support network of portfolio Managers to aid you in your development. The team also consists of Partners and a busy trainee cohort.
The office
The High Wycombe office offers accounting, audit and assurance, business advisory, corporate tax, personal tax and VAT services. We act for businesses and individuals both in the UK and internationally. Our staff work regularly and closely with their colleagues in our national offices to provide a seamless service to clients, wherever they are located.
Our High Wycombe office is home to 3 partners and 32 members of staff.
You
The successful candidate will have a wide range of accounting and VAT experience. Ability to use Excel, Word and Outlook is essential and knowledge of Xero, Sage, QuickBooks as well as CCH AP would be advantageous.
Applicants will be self-motivated, well organised, commercially minded and have a clear perception of client requirements with excellent attention to detail. In addition, they will possess good interpersonal skills, demonstrate initiative and be able to provide accurate work in a timely and cost-effective manner. Furthermore, they should display a flexible, professional approach, and have the confidence and ability to establish credibility with partners, managers and clients through strong written and verbal communication. A natural team player is essential, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude.

- A 35-hour working week with flexibility around the core hours of 10am-4pm
