The Role:
The Accounts Assistant will be responsible for managing the sales ledger function of the finance department, ensuring all customer accounts are accurately maintained and invoices are processed and reconciled in a timely and efficient manner. The successful candidate will also work closely with showroom sales team to ensure that all financial records relating to sales are accurate and up-to-date.
Key Responsibilities:
· Posting of invoices and credit notes in Sage in a timely and accurate manner
· Ensuring all sales ledger transactions are accurately recorded and maintained
· Posting of receipts and payments to the sales ledger
· Updating daily sales records by cross-checking with bank statements, and then distributing the updated figures to relevant people
· Reconciling customer accounts and resolving any discrepancies
· Monitoring and reporting on customer account balances and overdue payments
· Working closely with the sales team to ensure timely collection of debts
· Responding to queries and resolving any issues related to invoices or payments
· Providing support to other members of the finance department as required
· Assisting Finance Manager when needed
Skills and Qualifications:
· Outstanding attention to details and accuracy
· Excellent organisational and time-management skills
· Good communication skills
· Competent in Microsoft Excel
· Experience in a similar role would be beneficial but it is not a must
· Knowledge using accounting software, preferably Sage, beneficial but not essential
