Job Description – Accounts Assistant
Job Title: Accounts assistant
Reporting to: Financial Controller
Job Purpose: To support the Financial Controller with the companies bookkeeping. Issuing sales invoices, chasing late payments and reconciling company accounts. Entering and paying purchase invoices. Assisting with basic administrative tasks and answering any queries raised by staff or external providers.
Panificio Italiano is an independent bakery in Iver, Buckinghamshire. It is a new state of art purpose built automated bakery. We bake quality products ranging from traditional recipes to new speciality breads.
Responsibilities and Duties
Duties would include, but are not limited to:
Account Receivable:
- Issuing Sales invoices from sales orders and delivery notes
- Sending statement
- Dealing with customers queries
- Chasing customer for overdue amounts
- Updating System with new information (e.g., sales prices)
- Calculate customer rebates
Accounts Payable:
- Processing purchase orders
- Entering invoices, expenses with the correct nominal codes
- Make sure all invoices are approved and raise any queries with suppliers
- Set up weekly payments run
- Reconciliation of company credit cards and amazon orders
- Fill in new account forms
Banking:
- Process payments on online Banking to be approved by Finance controller or MD.
- Reconcile the bank daily, processing any journals
- Run Petty Cash
Product Costing:
- Cost up new products
- Reviewing all existing costing every year
Other responsibilities
- Monitoring finance mailbox
- Maintaining filing
- Run weekly and adhoc reports
- Set up new products on the system
- Reconciliation distribution charges
- Making journal entries
- Helping review month end accounts, accruals/prepayment/depreciation
- Assist in developing and improving existing systems and internal controls
Health and Safety responsibilities
· Being aware of and follow relevant health and safety policy, procedures, and instructions.
· Contribute to a safe working environment.
· Report directly to HR or Line manager any Health & Safety hazard or accidents.
· Being responsible for his/her own safety.
Food Safety Responsibilities
· Report to directly to Line manager/Technical Manager any potential food safety and quality issues.
· Contribute to a hygienic work environment in compliance with company policies and procedures.
· Monitor and report on food safety practices and systems.
Requirements and Critical skills
· 3+ years of Bookkeeping experience required.
· Excellent communication skills, written and spoken
· Excel – Vlookups/Pivot Tables
· Analytical skills
· High attention to detail.
· Previous experience of online banking (not essential)
· Good organisational, time management skills.
· Good team player but able to work individually.
· Be aware of Company standards, expectations and treat others with dignity and respect.
· Must possess a positive and professional attitude.

The role will be working Monday to Friday, 08.30 – 17.00.
Job Type: Temporary contract
Contract length: 12 months
Salary: £27,000.00-£29,922.70 per year
