About The Role

Maslow’s is now looking for a talented Accounts Assistant to help the Financial Controller and Finance Team with key financial processes. This will enable the individual to develop an understanding across a broad range of key finance processes. This role will sit in our UK Finance team, reporting to the Financial Controller and will have an opportunity to be involved in a variety of work across a wide spectrum.

MAIN OBJECTIVE OF POSITION

The key objective of this role is to ensure that the transactional processing for each of the legal entities is accurate, up to date and that the relationship with suppliers and customers is strengthened by the efficiency of the finance function. The finance team is small but is growing, utilises technology to minimise manual entry of data and therefore offers an opportunity to develop a wide understanding across all areas of a finance function.

The Group has a dynamic and supportive environment, and the finance team has a strong mandate to improve and implement change to support the growth of the Group.

  • Processes approved invoices in the computer, and balances the open invoices to the computer listings
  • Ensures correct charging amount by coding invoices
  • Reconciles all statements, requests missing invoices, and makes adjustments as necessary
  • Ensures appropriate support documentation is obtained and attached to the invoices before payment is made
  • Maintains all necessary files and registers for accounts payable
  • Posts payments received to aging and reconciles these payments to open invoices
  • Balances accounts receivable system to the general ledger on a routine basis
  • Balances and adjusts all house accounts weekly
  • Makes all necessary adjustments or credits
  • Assists in the preparation of month end reconciliation and in the final monthly closing of the accounts system
  • Prepares reports as requested to develop a more informative database for improved management decision making and critical evaluation of work activities
  • Reconciliation between FOH system and Accounting system.
  • Prepare the daily cash audit.
  • Other duties requested by your Manager
  • Has good working relation with all departments

To be considered for this you must have the following:

  • Upper Second Bachelor's degree in Finance/ Accounting/ Business Studies or related field
  • Previous work experience in a team environment with some experience in hospitality
  • Strong English written and Oral Communications Skills
  • Previous experience with Xero accounting systema and Sage 200 would be beneficial
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a great team player
  • High attention to detail and ability to problem solve
  • A positive can-do attitude and a growth mindset
  • Ability to multi task, plan and prioritise work within agreed timescales
