Job description
We have an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated and professional finance team, ensuring we succeed in maximising our contribution to the strategic aims of the Council.
The post holder under the leadership and management of the Principal Accountant will provide financial support services including budget preparation, budget monitoring, final accounts and to be assigned to the North Wales Residual Waste Treatment Project (NWRWTP). Flintshire is the lead authority for the NWRWTP working in partnership with Enfinium who have built a residual waste disposal facility Parc Adfer on the Deeside Industrial Park and has been active since August 2019.
You will already be AAT qualified and someone who is diligent and skilful at interpreting, reconciling and preparing financial information. Acting as the lead finance support, your ability to plan-ahead and consistently meet tight monthly and contractual timescales and work demands will be critical.
Well-developed IT skills will be essential.
You will have the capability to further develop your already proven interpersonal skills towards gaining a reputation for very strong and skilful communication and influencing skills. With your self- awareness and interest in developing this important attribute in yourself further, you will be able to create and foster effective working relationships and collaborations including, at a senior level, within Flintshire and externally. Your confidence and skill in making complex financial information engaging and meaningful as well as preparing and presenting will become key. The ability to challenge positively and objectively as well as develop your strategic thinking and planning skills will be a key requirement for success.
