Job description
Turkish Bank UK is looking for a full time Accounting Officer to join the Finance Team. The role will be based at our Head Office in London Bridge.
Accounting Officer will report to the Finance Team Leader.
Job Purpose:
The purpose of the role is to assist Chief Finance Officer and Finance Team Leader in all types of routine accounting work.
Key Tasks :
1. Prepare daily and weekly nostro reconciliations.
2. Process general expense invoices and keep VAT records.
3. Prepare fixed asset record for corporation Tax calculation and External Auditors.
4. Maintain fixed asset records and reconcile totals with General Ledger.
5. Year End controls and calculations.
6. Preparation of basic management accounts analysis.
7. Prepare daily management reports.
8. Prepare monthly suspense control accounts reports.
9. Prepare monthly outstanding nostro reconciliation.
10. Passing accounts and back-office journal entries.
11. Processing invoices with a suitable payment methods (MT103, Faster Payment, BACS, and Swift)
12. Produce and submit quarterly VAT recovery Report and PAYE calculation.
13. Control and maintain Suspense Accounts.
The key skills required for this role include the following:
- BSc degree required in Finance and Accounting or equivalent
- Studying towards ACCA/ACA/AAT (Partly qualified or student)
- Minimum of 1 to 2 years of basic banking experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Numerate
- A responsible, enthusiastic, self-motivated and flexible approach to work
- A demonstrable ability to work carefully and accurately at all times.
Candidates who are resident and eligible to work in the UK will be considered for the position.
