ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, account receivable, risk management, and general ledger.
- Monitor cash flow, prepare cash forecast, and manage banking relationships.
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statements and footnotes for annual audited financial statements.
- Provide accurate and comprehensive financial reports to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and variances.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
- Lead and manage a team of accountants, providing guidance, support, and feedback.
- Assign tasks, set performance goals, and evaluate individual and team performance.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Identify training needs and provide opportunities for professional development.
- Coordinate and support external audits, ensuring timely completion and adherence to audit requirements.
- Maintain compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and legal requirements.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks, including maintaining the Delegation of Authority (DOA) grid.
- Stay updated on industry trends, changes in accounting regulations, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with insurance requirements and manage insurance policies.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Streamline accounting procedures and systems to optimize workflow and minimize errors.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate financials systems and ensure data integrity.
- Ownership of SAP master data for FI
- Continuous improvement of SAP, the ERP system, to streamline processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 8+ years experience with at least 5+ years working in Financial reporting and planning. Success in leading people. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work under pressure and deliver tight deadline.
- Hands-on experience with SAP and the drive to continuously improve the tools and enhance Reporting and Planning process for the company.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and financial reporting standards (GAAP, IFRS, etc.)
- A working knowledge of production agriculture dynamics. A demonstrated understanding of grower value proposition for inputs and systems.
- Experience in working with diverse cultures and complex legal and business environments. Ability to coordinate efforts across business units and time zone.
- Must be able to travel domestically and internationally by automobile and public transportation including trains and aircraft.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor of Business Administration or similar with an emphasis on Accounting or Economics. MBA preferred.
- Professional Certifications such as CPA, CMA, CIA CFA preferred.
